The Rekka-scout programme

Rekka-scouts are offered a wealth of new opportunities in their own scouting and begin to try their hand at the various roles of responsibility within the scout movement. Rekka-scouts often work together across scout groups and, in addition, increasingly begin to work alongside rover scouts (19 – 25 years). Rekka-scouts are offered the chance to take part in all sorts of exciting events both at home and abroad, and so they often begin to form connections with other scouts across the globe. At Rekka-scout age most begin to take on leadership work or other roles within the scout groups, and a number of courses in leadership training are therefore available. There is a tremendous amount of experience to be gained from the Rekka-scout programme, experience that will serve them well in all areas of life for years to come.

Rekka-scouts meet regularly throughout the operating year. Among the Rekka-scouts the division into groups is not as fixed: they come together around whatever programme interests them and may therefore work in several groups at once, and in different groups over the course of the year. Rekka-scouts also plan and carry out a more individually tailored programme and projects than in younger age groups, especially those working towards the President’s Badge.
