Falcon scouts
"We are Falcon scouts, why aren't you!?" Falcon scouts are 10-12 years old and the life of the scouting party!
The Falcon scout programme
Falcon scouts are 10-12 years old, and the programme is described as “weekly work in the troop, with patrol meetings held regularly” (BÍS, Icelandic).
The Falcon scout programme covers, among other things, the scout standing on their own two feet and having a strong say in the choice of projects for themselves and for the patrol; learning to work with others and to carry responsibility; a growing awareness of one’s own body and abilities and consideration for one’s peers; learning to prepare for the outdoors and to give first aid; and creating things out in nature.
Falcon scout leaders work together with the scouts to plan their meetings. The aim is for the scouts to be free to decide what they want to do and for the leaders to make it happen, within reasonable limits. We do this through troop leader meetings, where the leaders of each troop explain their plans for the next three meetings to the patrol leaders.
Main information
Meetings are on Wednesdays from 17:30-19:30, unless otherwise announced
They are in the Skjöldungar scout house, Sólheimar 21a
We would like scouts who have made their scout promise to always bring their scarf 😊
Of course, but we ask that you let us know before the meeting
Franz Halldór, Gestur and Kría are the patrol leaders
Rán and Júlía are the assistant patrol leaders
Does your child belong with the Falcon scouts?
